Cressman's Lawn & Tree Care

Lawncare

When it comes to grass…

Lush and green, straight lines, and weed-free. That’s how we like our lawns to look… and we’re sure you do too! We have several crews dedicated simply to the care of lawns: mowing, fertilizing, treating for insects and weeds, seeding, aerating and even installing new lawns.

“We have always sought to educate our customers. Better informed people have healthier and better looking properties because they know the value of what we do and let us do what is necessary.” – Shawn Cressman

We take grass cutting very seriously. The quality of a cut can make or break the appearance of an otherwise beautiful house.

The cutting height, direction of the stripes and disposal of clippings are all major factors that we consider with our lawns. Our trained experts determine the right strategy based on the specific conditions of your lawn and your desires and then integrate it with our lawn application program.

Lawn Applications

Proper fertilizers and pest controls are as important to a lawn as taking vitamins and antibiotics are to our own bodies.

We offer a 6-step program that combines insecticides and fertilizers that meet all the requirements to keep and maintain a healthy lawn. We also offer preventative treatments for other pests such as ticks and fleas.

  • Applied March – April First Application – Crabgrass Pre-emergence & Fertilizer

Jump-start your lawn with a mix of weed pre-emergence and fertilizer, applied in a slow-release, granular form to maintain steady, green growth.

  • Applied May – June Second Application – Broadleaf Weed Control & Fertilizer

Kills existing weeds and helps lawns grow in where weeds once were with a slow-release fertilizer infused with micro- nutrients. Applied as a granular fertilizer and commercial-strength liquid weed killer.

  • Applied July – August Third Application – Insect and Grub Control & Fertilizer

Kills grubs and other insects in larvae stages before they can destroy your lawn. Applied as a powerful, quick-release insecticide that coats a slow-release granular fertilizer.

  • Applied August – September Fourth Application – Broadleaf Weed Control & Fertilizer

The same treatment as the second application, but focuses on killing weeds, like Dandelions, that have germinated since the second application.

  • Applied October – November Fifth Application – Heavy Fall Fertilizer

This granular product helps your lawn through the cold season. It contains a higher rate of phosphorus to aid in pre-winter root development.

  • Applied December Sixth Application – Calcium & Soil Management

Calium is applied in different forms to break up tightly compacted soils and improve water and nutrient absorption. It also releases nutrients tied up in soils and aids in thatch decomposition.

Specialty Applications – Done when necessary

Sometimes soil tests call for more of a certain nutrient. We make a special application for such cases.

We also do treatments if your lawn is infected with a specific insect or disease not covered by our normal program.

Turf Care:

Slit seeding, overseeding and aerating are all important components when it comes to keeping a lawn looking full. We use a mixture of grass seed specially formulated for this area that includes drought and disease resistant types. Some of our clients like to have grass growing underneath their large shade trees, so we often accommodate with a variety of shade grasses as well.

When entire yards have been damaged, killed or a homeowner simply wants their property replanted with a better variety of grass, we have the ability and experience to do a complete lawn renovation or replacement.
